Dermal Lip Fillers
Dermal lip fillers at our Stirling Clinic
The shape of the lip alters with age. As lip volume decreases, the lips begin to thin and sag and the lip border becomes less defined.
Dermal fillers containing hyaluronic acid, are used to redefine, shape, give definition, and add volume to lips. This helps to create a fuller more youthful look.
The treatment time for lip fillers is normally one hour. This includes 30 minutes for the numbing cream to take effect.
After the initial treatment, you are required to return for a check up. This is normally two weeks later. If you wish further treatments, we would advise a two to four week gap between each further treatment. This is to allow the lips to settle completely after each treatment.
Dermal fillers usually last between 9 months and 18 months, although this may vary from person to person.
Initially following your treatment the lips will be swollen. This may take 2-3 days to resolve. Occasionally bruising may occur and may take up to 5-10 days to resolve.
Numbing cream is always used, unless there is a medical reason that prevents this.
